First Blog; First Post
Here it is just seven days before Christmas, and the last of the Christmas orders are cooking in the kiln. They will ship tomorrow, the last day the Post Office guarantees delivery before Christmas for Priority Mail.
As with every Christmas since I launched my studio in 1992, we have not met every creative goal before Christmas. Thankfully, in years past, folks have not minded (too much) waiting for their porcelain until after Christmas or even after the New Year.
The big difference in completing the majority of the pre-Christmas-MUST-have's this year has been my husband Gordon. He is an unreserved Computer Geek, and what he has brought to the studio, the farm and the family in our almost-three-years of marriage is immeasurable.
Tonight, with the last of the deadline ornaments and brooches metamorphosing in the 2600 degree Fahrenheit enclosed inferno, Gordon and I can burrow into a sea of pillows and watch Peyton Manning stay in the race for the top spot in the AFC. (Gee, I hope Peyton and the Colts make it to the Super Bowl this year!)
I'll prattle another time about the intense obsessive compulsary "interesting" course in Football Appreciation 101 Gordon has conducted during our marriage. Suffice it to say, I was promised prior to marriage that he "only followed the Dallas Cowboys". HA! *cheeky grin*
Back on topic, what I hope to accomplish with this blog is to keep family, friends and collectors up to date with new designs and the daily life on the farm that is the inspiration for my art. (See www.pennysanford.com for the finished art.)
With less than four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, I'd better get back to helping Peyton. Before I sign off on this first post of my first blog, I will try to upload photos of the two fur-babies sharing our bed. They watched the game for a while, but after a very busy day following us around, they are pooped pups!
More soon,
Penny
PS: Rebel, 13, and Annie, 8, are Rescue Westies that we adopted around the first of October. Their story another time also! They are furry little blessings!
