In 3.5 years of marriage, because I love him, I have become a fan of pro football, college football and now arena-league and Europa football. I figure I can pace myself to acclimating to one sport per year, so basketball will have to wait until next year. *wink*
We're back from a day-trip to Vicksburg, MS. There was a big Mississippi Quilt Association event there late this afternoon. I will be blogging all about the beautiful quilts and a famous Mississippi quilter, but this post is just about the beautiful, delicious rain we drove through and enjoyed this afternoon.
We needed this rain, and it put me into a "Raindrops on the Windshield" mood for photos.
The sky kept revealing a sneak peek at beautiful blue with white fluffy clouds, only to be overshadowed by heavy, water-laden rain clouds. I love shooting right after a rain because the colors are so saturated.
The rest of these photos were snapped through the windshield. Don't you just love the architecture of City Hall, the fourth picture. I'd like the office with the round windows! LOL
The fifth photo is of the Cultural Auditorium of Vicksburg, the renovated incarnation of a historic Catholic School. It is a fascinating group of buildings that spreads over an entire city block. This is where the MQA event was held.
Here was a drive-by photo that made us both smile. How does a street become named "Veto" street? I especially liked the sno-cone stand, a harbinger of summer everywhere.
Tomorrow, friend Barbara McClellan and I are off to the June Gathering of the Mississippi Quilt Association in Pearl, MS. We will have a day-and-a-half of classes, vendors, exhibits and many other learning opportunities! I may be too jazzed to sleep tonight!
Quilt photos and chatter will be forthcoming!!!
