This "tree" with balls of colorful rick rack and ribbon was an idea I had for Christmas 2011 for the Sewing Room. Christmas came and went. Blue January came and went. Valentine's Day came and went. St. Patrick's Day...
Now, with Easter weekend, I've almost finished my EASTER Rick Rack and Ribbon Tree!
You may have heard me whining and moaning the past few years over the fact that I don't have any stash of ribbons and rick rack. From all the sewing my grandmother did, one would expect a magnificient stash of rick rack and ribbon. Grandma made beautiful embellished clothes for all of her grandchildren.
If there is a stash of lace, ribbon and rick rack remnants on this farm, I've still not found it.
So, bargain by bargain, I've been building a stash. So far, rick rack has been my focus. Ribbons are my current passion.
So, tomorrow afternoon, I will finish rolling up the rick rack or ribbon bargains that I have snagged since Christmas, and the little basket with the interesting woven split-oak curls will have colorful "Easter Eggs" in it for under the tree!
I will fluff and puff into submission the little remnant of fabric under the "tree" that is printed with rick rack, and Gordon can take the final pictures.
The best sunshine for this particular place in the house is around 2 p.m. I was taking a nap this afternoon (Saturday) and missed the best sun. LOL
The spray painted branches are Mock Orange. It has another name I can't spell without looking it up, so lets just leave it there for today. I want to get this posted before dinner! hehehe
I want a ribbon tree in my room.
